Md. Abdul Karim is a Lecturer at the Department of Film and Media Studies, Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam University (JKKNIU), Mymensingh, Bangladesh. Before starting his journey as an academic, he served for several national media organizations namely the country’s national English daily –The Daily Observer, and the online news portal newsnextbd.com   
Mr. Karim obtained his graduation (BSS) and post-graduation (MSS) from the Department of Mass Communication and Journalism, University of Dhaka.
Besides teaching, he does research in different areas including Film Studies, Film Criticism, New Media, Media & Culture, Education, and Journalism Studies.
