The Research and Extension Center, Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam
University, was established on 23 September 2013, according to the decision of
the 43rd Syndicate Meeting of this university. Since its inception,
the Center has been playing a major role in providing financial and logistic
support for researchers to produce and disseminate knowledge among national and
international academia. The Center relentlessly working on its main goal of
expansion and quality development of research. This Center grants the funds to
the nominated researchers every fiscal year following their selection through a
blind peer review process. Additionally, the Research and Extension Center
offers PhD fellowships to a certain number of students each year. In a similar
vein, funding is provided to the shortlisted Master's (thesis) students to
facilitate their research and improve its quality. Seminars and workshops are
regularly organized with the presence of renowned researchers and scientists of
the country to share the research findings among academic community.
With support from the office staff, the Center is led by a Director appointed
by the university authority. Who, by post, also acts as member secretary of the
Institutional Review Board of Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam University. Where
the Director of the Research and Extension Center, along with the office staff,
plays a key role in administering the functions of the IRB of JKKNIU.
Currently, Dr. Md. Habibur Rahman, Associate Professor, Department of Finance
and Banking, JKKNIU, is serving as Director of this Center.
