Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam University is a government financed public university of Bangladesh. It is also known as JKKNIU. It is located at Nama para Battala, 2 kilometres West from Trishal Bus stand. It is the first general university established in Mymensingh division. The university was established in 2006. The Physical Education department is established on 15/12/2009 for the physical and mental development of the students. This department arranges various types of co- curricular activities like as football, cricket, volleyball, badminton, table tennis etc for the students. This department also schedules yearly training programs for development the skills of players. Beside this, the department also works for arranging inter department competition programs towards various games as well as inter university competition.
