Overview of Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam University (JKKNIU)
Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam University was established by the Government of Bangladesh on 09 May 2006, though the initiative for its establishment was taken some years before, firstly by a non-official group of socio-cultural local elites, namely Greater Mymensingh Cultural Forum.The university was originally conceived to be built as the first cultural university in Bangladesh, but the JKKNIU Act enacted in 2006 made it a general university with a special focus on liberal-cum-performing arts education and research.

Mission :
M1: To develop students' creative strengths through cultural education as well as studies in the arts and humanities, science and engineering, social sciences, business administration, fine arts, and law. M2: To contribute to the achievement of national development goals by researching and innovating appropriate technologies for the modern and sustainable development of the country. M3: To promote cultural practices in the country, to modernize all forms of education to meet global standards, and to produce skilled human resources. M4: To play a role in achieving national development in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) adopted by the United Nations.
Quality Policy :
Quality shall be adhered to in conformity with the prescribed national and international standards of quality and excellence including those provided by the professional bodies and organizations. Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam University (JKKNIU) is committed to translate into actions the programs, projects and activities related to the sustainable delivery of quality management operation system. The students being the valued customers are the central focus of the university shall be provided with utmost care and attention to meet their primordial needs and future career success. In view of this commitment, the university shall exert best efforts to harmonize its action through collaboration, cooperation and consultation with every unit and components of the university.
