Biography

Mahjabin Sultana Mitul is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Public Administration and Governance Studies, Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam University, where she has been since 2014. Earlier, from 2013 to 2014 she served as a lecturer in the Department of Public Administration in Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Science and Technology University (BSMRS&TU). Her research interest spans governance, gender, public policy, and quantitative research. Her teaching responsibilities both at the undergraduate and graduate levels include teaching a number of courses: Globalization and governance, Non-Government Organizations (NGOs), Fundamentals of Sociology, Organization Development, Political Economy, Advanced Research Methodology, and Gender and Development. Her articles have appeared in the International Multidisciplinary Journal of Environment (IMJE), South Asian Journal of Policy and governance (SJPG). Mahjabin’s most recent work is a co-authored book chapter, titled Impact of Informality on Land-Use Conflicts: Insights from Gender Perspectives in Bangladesh which has been included in the edited book Gender and Land Rights in Changing Global Contexts, published by reputed international publishing house Thomson Reuters in 2022. Besides, she attended the following conferences as a paper presenter International Conference on the Rohingya Crisis in Bangladesh: Challenges and Sustainable Solutions held on 27 -28 July 2019; International Conference on Social Sciences (ICSS 2018) based on the theme of “Social Science and Humanities for Sustainable Development to Support Community Empowerment held on October 18th-19th, 2018 and International Conference on Gender mainstreaming in Politics, Administration and Development in South Asia and Beyond held in 2017. She is currently pursuing an MPA at the University of Bergen (UiB) in Norway as a NORPART scholar. She can be reached at
