ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

The Department of Philosophy was established in 2018 and began its academic journey in the 2018–2019 academic year with a commitment to promoting critical thinking, intellectual inquiry, and the study of philosophical traditions. The department was founded under the leadership of Professor Dr. Musharrat Shabnam, who served as the founding Head of the Department on extra duty. At its inception, the department started with 44 students, supported by 3 teachers and 2 employees. Since its establishment, the Department of Philosophy has been dedicated to fostering academic excellence, ethical reflection, and a deeper understanding of human thought, society, and culture through quality teaching, research, and scholarly engagement.

VISION

The Department of Philosophy seeks to advance knowledge-hungry students through various educational programs. The aim of this department is to prepare the students to serve the nation with modern knowledge, contemporary education and research, and to face the global challenges of the 21st century along with modern life.

MISSION

The objective of the Department of Philosophy is to develop human resources by exploring their full potential including intellectual capacity, cultural and intercultural values. Besides, encouraging lifelong learning of students through quality education for better life, better nation and knowledge based society.
