A seminar entitled “Field Study: Research Methods, Observations and Data Collection” was held on 1 November 2026, organized by the Department of Population Science, Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam University. The seminar was chaired by Dr. K. M. Mustafizur Rahman, Head of the Department, with Professor Dr. Mohammad Bellal Hossain, and Professor Dr. Md. Rabiul Haque from the Department of Population Sciences, University of Dhaka, serving as resource persons. All faculty members and 4th-year students of the department attended the seminar. The resource persons provided insightful guidance on research methodologies, field observations, questionnaire administration, data collection techniques, ethical considerations, and practical challenges in conducting field research. They also emphasized the importance of ensuring data accuracy, reliability, and quality throughout the research process. Following the discussion, the seminar resolved that the knowledge and practical guidance gained from the session would be applied by the 4th-year students in their upcoming field study to ensure systematic data collection and adherence to appropriate research practices. The seminar concluded with a vote of thanks to the resource persons and appreciation for the active participation of all faculty members and students.
